The Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force successfully completed a humanitarian aid mission to the Gaza Strip, Palestine on Sunday, August 17, 2025, coinciding with Indonesia’s 80th independence anniversary. The mission was a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Defense, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Alms Agency (Baznas).

Two Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft took off from King Abdullah II Air Base in Amman, Jordan at 10:37 a.m. local time. The aircraft conducted an airdrop of essential supplies over Gaza before returning safely to the forward operating base by 12:25 p.m. local time.

Colonel Pilot Puguh Yulianto, Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force, stated on Monday, August 18, 2025, that the mission was executed smoothly without major obstacles. The aid packages consisted of staple foods, ready-to-eat meals, medical equipment, blankets, and items specifically for children.

President Prabowo Subianto directly ordered the mission as part of Indonesia’s enduring commitment to international humanitarian solidarity. The success of the mission on the country’s independence anniversary was celebrated as a moment of national pride, highlighting Indonesia’s active role in global peace efforts.

Yulianto expressed that the mission’s accomplishment was a historic milestone and a special gift in commemoration of Indonesia’s Independence Day.
