Jakarta — Political observer Ujang Komarudin highlighted President Jokowi, who has been continuously showing solidarity with President-elect Prabowo Subianto ahead of the presidential and vice-presidential inauguration, which has become more frequent lately.
According to Ujang, this solidarity brings a calming effect and creates a conducive and stable situation within the country.
“I see this as soothing for the people, for the public, and this is liked by the people because in any case, all Indonesians are interested in ensuring that the transition of government from President Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin to President Prabowo-Gibran runs smoothly and peacefully,” explained Ujang to reporters on Monday (14/10).
Jokowi and Prabowo recently had a casual discussion while enjoying a dinner together at Plataran Senayan. Then, yesterday afternoon, on Sunday, Prabowo and Gibran had lunch together at Jokowi’s residence in Solo.
Today, Monday, Jokowi and Prabowo stood together attending the Security Appointment Ceremony at the Brimob Kelapa Dua Wetan, Depok, West Java.
“Many want to sow discord, many want them to separate, to divorce, but both Jokowi and Prabowo continue to maintain a close, harmonious relationship, in a kind of familial and kinship bond that is crucial for the interests of the nation and the state,” said Ujang.
At the ceremony, Prabowo was seen waiting for Jokowi’s arrival to then together board the all-terrain assault vehicle (ATAV) from Pindad and inspect the readiness of the security forces for the Presidential and Vice Presidential Inauguration on October 20, 2024.
This solidarity, according to Ujang, reflects a smooth transition in governance from the era of Jokowi to the era of Prabowo, which shows the world that Indonesia is in a state of stability, order, safety, and peace.
“I appreciate what both President Jokowi and President Prabowo are doing to keep Indonesia in a stable and good condition, and the democratic transition, the transition from Jokowi’s government to Prabowo’s, is proceeding peacefully and orderly, very soothing and also liked by the people,” concluded Ujang.
