Jakarta – President-elect Prabowo Subianto revealed that he is saddened by the constant mutual insults among the Indonesian people. Especially when the insults are directed towards leaders without considering the work they have done.
“So I am sad that we have a tradition of always belittling leaders, cursing and insulting them,” Prabowo said during the closing of the IIIII Congress of the National Democratic Party (NasDem) at JCC, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (27/08).
“However, President Jokowi’s achievements are admirable, (Indonesia) can maintain inflation at 2.5%,” he said.
“Where else (can you find that)? In the last three years, only a few countries have achieved this. And this is not an achievement that falls from the sky,” he added.
Prabowo also mentioned that thanks to Jokowi’s leadership, Indonesia quickly recovered from the Covid-19 pandemic. According to him, this is an achievement that does not just happen out of nowhere.
“I am not defending, but I will speak the truth, what is right is right, what is wrong is wrong,” he explained.
In front of NasDem cadres, Prabowo also expressed his gratitude to the party for supporting his government. He hopes that unity can continue to be maintained to build the country.
“So, once again, thank you NasDem for joining me. Let’s unite, work together, prove that we are willing and able to come together for the Indonesian people,” Prabowo said. (RR)
