Jakarta — Defense Minister of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, along with President Jokowi, watched in awe the display of the Indonesian Navy fleet in the waters of Teluk Jakarta on Saturday (28/9).

They witnessed the parade of naval vessels during the Sailing Pass on the warships of the Indonesian Navy and other military equipment on the KRI dr Radjiman Wedyodiningrat (RJW – 992).

According to the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, Muhammad Ali, a total of 55 large and small ships were displayed in the Sailing Pass. Additionally, there was a Flying Pass featuring 25 aircraft from the Indonesian Navy.

“The demonstration was conducted directly at sea using domestically-made military equipment,” said Muhammad Ali.

As the Sailing Pass passed by the KRI dr Radjiman Wedyodiningrat (RJW – 992), the troops were seen waving their hands towards Jokowi and Prabowo who were sitting side by side.

“They waved their hands to the President, expressing their thanks to the President,” said the Chief of Staff of the Navy.

Various types of naval vessels were showcased during the parade, including Multi Role Light Frigate (MLRF), PKR, SIGMA-class ships, the legendary sailing ship KRI Dewa Ruci, Combat Boats, and the Landing Platform Dock-class ships. The KRI Cakra 401 submarine of the Indonesian Navy was also displayed in front of the KRI dr Radjiman Wedyodiningrat-992.

As for the aircraft, they included Cassa NC-212, CN 235 MP, Piper Archer DX, Bonanza G36, Helicopter Bell 505 Jet Ranger X, Helicopter Panther AS565 MBe, VIP King Air aircraft, and UAV Scaneagle.

The Navy parade was also joined by ships from the Water Police, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Customs, Basarnas, Coast Guard, and Indonesian Fishing Vessels (KII). The Chief of Staff of the Navy stated that there were around 500 members of the public on board the KRI Banda Aceh and KRI Wahidin.

In addition to the military parade, an award ceremony for the Samkaryanugraha honorary insignia was held for KRI-Nanggala 402, and the Shark Crest badge was pinned on President Jokowi.

The Shark Crest badge of honor is a form of recognition and appreciation from the Indonesian Navy, particularly the Submarine Unit, given only to individuals who have made a significant contribution in the Indonesian Armed Forces.

Also present at the event were Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of National Land Agency Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, and Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
