Hambalang, Bogor—Defense Minister (Menhan) of Indonesia and President elect for the period 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, performed the Eid al-Adha prayer in Masjid Nurul Wathan located in Padepokan Garuda Yaksa, Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (17/6).
Prabowo attended the Masjid Nurul Wathan wearing a white koko shirt and a black peci (traditional hat). Upon entering the mosque, Prabowo greeted the local residents.
Subsequently, Prabowo quickly entered the mosque and headed to the front row to perform the Eid al-Adha prayer, which began at 07:00 AM.
After performing the prayer, Prabowo once again greeted the residents and exchanged greetings.
“Sir, Eid Mubarak,” the residents said to Prabowo.
The residents were also enthusiastic about taking photos with Prabowo, including the women and children present.
“Blessings, Sir,” the children said to Prabowo.
“Blessings,” said Prabowo while hugging and kissing the foreheads of the children present.
In this Eid al-Adha 1445 H moment, Prabowo inspired the meaning derived from the exemplary stories of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail, which is to sacrifice and distribute the meat to those in need to provide happiness and the best nutrition.
This year, Prabowo sacrificed 145 cows distributed across several regions. A total of 89 cows were distributed to scholars, habaibs, Islamic mass organizations, pesantrens, and Mosque Prosperity Councils (DKM).
Meanwhile, at Prabowo’s Hambalang residence, there were 38 cows to be slaughtered and distributed to the local community. In the Gerindra Party’s Central Executive Board office, there were 20 cows and 5 goats.
