Cleetus McFarland is eagerly waiting for the decision on whether he will be approved to race in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on April 25. After participating in the NOAPS race at Rockingham Speedway over the weekend, the 31-year-old YouTuber and amateur racer discussed his hopes on his Bald Eagles podcast. While expressing his desire to race at Talladega, Cleetus also mentioned that his main target races were always the summer events at Daytona and Talladega.
Despite finishing six laps down in the NOAPS race and facing some skepticism about his performance, Cleetus remains indifferent to the approval decision, stating, “I think a lot of people on the internet are thinking I shouldn’t be approved. I don’t care whether I’m approved or not.” He emphasized that he did not demand approval from NASCAR but welcomed the opportunity to race if approved for ‘Dega.
Looking ahead, Richard Childress Racing executive Danny Lawrence raised concerns about the need for more preparation and possibly another race to obtain a superspeedway license. However, if Cleetus does not receive approval for NOAPS, he still intends to compete in the ARCA Racing Series event at Talladega in the upcoming April race weekend.
The anticipation for the decision on Cleetus McFarland’s participation in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series highlights his determination and willingness to seize racing opportunities, showcasing his passion for the sport.
