President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, delivered a powerful message to newly commissioned officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri). Speaking at the 2025 Oath-Taking and Commissioning Ceremony, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of setting a positive example in their daily lives. He urged the young officers to internalize the oath they had just taken, viewing it as a solemn commitment to serve the nation and its people.

During the ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, President Prabowo reminded the officers of the sacred oath they swore before God and the people of Indonesia. He highlighted the significance of understanding the oath deeply, not just reciting it as a formality, but living it out with integrity and a willingness to sacrifice for the nation.

President Prabowo also spoke about the great responsibility that now lies on the shoulders of the newly commissioned officers. He stressed the duty to protect the country’s sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people. Reflecting on Indonesia’s history of struggle for independence, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of being prepared to face challenges and threats.

“Our nation was built through struggle, with sacrifices made for independence. We must stay strong to avoid being dominated by others or having to submit to foreign interests,” President Prabowo warned. As the supreme commander of the armed forces, he called on the officers to be ready to serve, dedicate themselves, and if necessary, make the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
