The Prabowo-Gibran Synchronization Task Force has denied rumors of a reduction in the budget for free nutritious meals from Rp15,000 to Rp7,500 per child. Hasan Nasbi from the communications team emphasized that the current budget allocation for the free meal program is Rp71 trillion and no specific per-child budget has been determined yet.
President-elect Prabowo has requested that the budget be optimized to benefit as many recipients as possible. Research, studies, and pilot projects related to nutritious meals will follow Prabowo’s directive, as the free meal program is a key initiative of the administration.
Hasan also mentioned that the budget per child will vary depending on their location, as different regions in Indonesia have varying menu and ingredient prices. The nutritional needs will be determined by nutritionists and the prices will adjust accordingly based on the available food ingredients in each region.
Budi Satrio Djiwandono, another member of the task force, stated that rumors about budget cuts are speculative and far from the truth. The task force aims to provide clarification and a clear picture of the facts regarding the free meal program.
