A member of the Prabowo-Gibran Synchronization Task Force’s Communication Division, Hasan Nasbi, clarified that the rumor about cutting the budget for nutritious free meals for school students to IDR 7,500 per child is not an official statement from the team. The rumor was initially spread by economist Heriyanto Irawan, but Hasan emphasized that it was just an idea and not confirmed by the team.
The main focus of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka is to ensure that the meals provided meet nutritional adequacy standards, according to Hasan. The cost per child is still under review, with input from various parties and experts, and no specific figure has been set yet.
Hasan also explained that the nutritional standards will be adjusted based on the diverse nutritional sources in different regions of Indonesia, with varying local menus to suit the availability of food ingredients in each area. Gibran also urged caution in reporting on uncertain matters and mentioned that the ongoing trials for nutritious free meals currently use a budget of IDR 15,000 per person.
